“Just get started – that’s the first step.”

the minimaxer

If I could share the most important life lesson with you, this would be it. Start!

Getting started is the first step – obvious, right? But how many of us never start because we get overwhelmed with all the stuff we know is going to come along?

We fall into all kinds of traps… like perfectionism and procrastination. It’s easy to do and these traps have their own ready excuses. “I’m waiting until I have enough time to do it right.” “I just need to do a little more research before I start because I want it to be perfect.”

I’m not going to get all preachy with you on this blog. It’s my opportunity to share a personal journey and continue my own life long learning to maximize the stuff in my life.

That’s really what it’s all about… for me… and maybe for you too.

We are here for a reason, and we are here to be productive. We are here to honor our heritage and to make the most of our potential – to maximize our results with minimal impact.

That’s the idea behind the name: MiniMax.

It means minimizing while you maximize. It means following the best practices of minimalism at the same time you are being a maximalist. A strange dichotomy, I know, but it makes sense when you think about it.

Of course, I’ll need to share some definitions here as we get started. Over time the ideas will develop and you’ll see them reflected in real world case studies – real world examples that illustrate and punctuate the journey from clutter to creativity.

It’s a new concept, but all great movements start with a concept – right?

There is so much to tell you and so much to talk about. Like many blogs, this is a forum where concepts, ideas, and journeys can be openly shared and discussed. We’re not going to get it all done today, and maybe not tomorrow, but we will get a lot of stuff done – that I promise you.

So let’s get started, this is the first step.
